COLLECTION OF THE SAMPLE – BUCCAL SWAB
Avoid eating, drinking, or smoking 30 minutes before collection.
a. Remove the swab from its sterile packaging, making sure to avoid contact with any object or surface.
b. Insert the swab into your mouth and vigorously rub the inside of both cheeks in circular motions for at least 30 seconds.
c. Gently remove the swab. Insert it carefully into the plastic bag, then close it securely using the zipper.
NOTE: Samples must be sent to the laboratory within 24 hours of collection.
